Training Experience

Classroom, Live Virtual and Asynchronous

There are so many ways to present these days. Presenting live, virtually, and via asynchronous means all create their own opportunities and challenges. Having succeeded in all three (at least according to my students), I have some unique viewpoints on what makes an effective presentation based on the medium of your choice.

Instructor Led Training

I consider a classroom a community, and the facilitator is there to help ensure that each member of the community benefits from the lessons presented. Combining the right pitch, level, tone, movement, and interaction, I hope to make a classroom, whether in-person or virtual, one where the student is engaged, interested, and a partner in learning.

Live Virtual Training

Our workplace is no longer just a building. With the advent of remote work and the technologies to support it, live virtual learning has become the solution for many companies. Seeing this trend early, I have taken courses with NYU and other institutions to sharpen my skills in remote delivery while maintaining the human presence that many learners need to engage with the concepts being presented. I have presented to hundreds and to small groups. Let’s discuss my philosophy of virtual learning.

Asynchronous Learning

Learning doesn’t always happen on a schedule. While my belief is that engagement happens when a facilitator and student can exchange ideas, there are times when the workday does not allow attendance in a live session. Recognizing this, I have created video courses, demonstrations, short form presentations, podcasts, and outlines for multi-week asynchronous classes. These are designed for when learning is convenient for the learner, not the instructor. After all, isn’t that what we are here to do?

Here are some samples of my work in both virtual live and asynchronous learning. Interested in finding out more Contact me and let’s talk!
